Through video clips, audio samples, and rare photos, students will uncover the stories of the fierce women and LGBT people of Hollywood’s scandalous past and present who took on the man and won.

Presenter Lauren LoGiudice is an actor and comedian from NYC whose work has been featured in The New York Times, BBC America, Bust Magazine, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Curve Magazine, Funny or Die, and more. Her solo show, Garbo Dreams, about the life of Hollywood icon Greta Garbo, opened the door to the rarely-seen-research sources used in this lecture. She has starred in numerous commercials and films, as well as appeared in the Emmy-award winning HBO show VEEP.

In this interactive workshop, students will get key tips for a better audition from Lauren’s extensive experience working in the industry. Each student will have a chance to perform audition sides and to receive feedback.
Without business skills, actors struggle to succeed in an increasingly competitive industry. In this workshop students learn how to establish their career in whichever market they reside.
Everyone says that actors and filmmakers (writers, directors, etc.) must create their own content, but no one tells exactly you how to do that. At the end of this workshop students will leave with an individually customized plan to create their first project!
